This café can be found two blocks down the road. What makes this café special though? A dog named Winston who wears glasses… daily and I’m serious. If you want to know the reason behind my obsession with Winston, I went to the café on a Tuesday afternoon to get a coffee with no intention of looking at Winston but as soon as I saw the coolest pair of glasses I just knew I had to go back the next day and somehow a whole month had gone by!
I left the café, and that night I started to draft a series of Dog with glasses coloring pages. I planned 10 pages, all unique, all free. One has a Dog with glasses reading a book at a desk surrounded by books and pencils. Another has one sitting on a log in the mountains with a backpack and lantern nearby. One’s wearing star-shaped glasses while peeking out of a handbag full of fun accessories. Another is exploring a treasure map with paw prints and bones all around.
My coffee? Cold. It was super late and I really should’ve been sleeping, but my brain wouldn’t stop, because the idea just clicked. Some of the pages started out as just dog head coloring pages, you know, only the face, only the frames, only that little smirk, and even that tiny piece was enough to make you grin from ear to ear.
Think of it this way. Every puppy should have the experience of wearing glasses at least once in their life. I mean seriously – can you think of anything better? The pure beauty of those perfect little pieces of glass perched on his or her nose as if they belong to the world’s most well-read professor, all while resting gently against their cute, soft furry faces makes for an amazing sight and one too hard to pass up on any given day!
